Tracking Transmitter mk2

ARB144CWTmk2

arb144mkii

The ARB144CWT transmitter is a crystal controlled on-off-carrier (OOC) transmitter designed for model rockets but suitable for wildlife, balloons and many other applications requiring a small, frequency stable transmitter. The transmitter works best with a receiver that has CW mode, however an FM receiver or scanner can be used if it has a S meter which can be observed during operation. Transmitter ground range is approximately 500 meters (5 feet above ground)* .

Depending on what you use for a battery will determine on how long it will last in the field. I have had one on test using a AAA 1.5v battery for 12 months now . Air to ground transmission range can be substantially greater than ground-to-ground range. Also the range can be increased significantly by using a directional high gain antenna or a more sensitive receiver.

You can use this transmitter for many uses like putting on a mammals collar for tracking or for your model rocket or aeroplane to locate after a crash landing.

You will need suitable equipment to use this transmitter correctly.

This is the next generation of my transmitter and as you can see has been reduced in size somewhat.

This gives you more idea of how big the transmitter actually is.

Here is a video of what the transmitter sounds like using a CW receiver.
